Welcome
to Renoise In:Depth!
Description
The Renoise In:Depth section is a web magazine on music
production in conjunction with Renoise. Whereas the Tutorials Wiki is
the equivalent of the product manual with a broader view on subjects,
Renoise In:Depth explains features and concepts in greater detail and shows how
Renoise is used in practice.
Examples of possible articles
- How to create a custom breakbeat, step-by-step
- Ticks and Rows - the clockwork within Renoise
- Shortcut 101
- Resampling techniques: hoovers and reeces
Vox
We have decided to start In:Depth on Vox. Two reasons:
- We shift the technical maintenance to the people behind the service. This relieves the In:Depth organisation from technical burdens and allows them to focus on content.
- Vox has community features to allow easy tracking of who reads the blog, and spontaneous social networking ensues. Oh, joy!
In short, we let everybody have their own blog and profile. Then we congregate the separate blogs under the Renoise Neighborhood: no fuss and easily overviewed.
Organisation
One or more editors manage the Renoise Vox account: this will be the In:Depth admin team. The admin team writes content and transcribes interviews for example, which boils down to a pre-moderation system. But the admin team will also monitor aggregrated articles within the Renoise Neighbourhood. The team's mission is to keep the focus on quality rather than quantity.
We also discussed an invite system in addition to a pre-mod system. Let's
say we invite about 10 technically experienced Renoise users as authors to give In:Depth a warm start. We can trust they
will write interesting material, so they aren't likely to need any moderation by the admin team.
Conclusion
In:Depth - the magazine for the Renoise community!
